About The Instructor

Hannah Pollard B.A., M.S.

Hannah Pollard holds a B.A. in Chemistry, with a minor in Biology, from the University of Virginia and a M.S. in Chemistry from East Tennessee State University. Prior to her degree work at ETSU, Mrs. Pollard worked as a tutor at Virginia Highlands Community College. She has since taught chemistry, earth science, and physics at Lebanon High School in addition to teaching dual enrollment chemistry at Abingdon High School for eight years. In addition to her instructor position with the Governor’s School, Mrs. Pollard also holds an adjunct chemistry instructor position with Virginia Highlands Community College.

General Chemistry

General Chemistry explores the fundamental laws, theories, and mathematical concepts of chemistry. Since the course is designed for stem majors to-be, students are expected to have a strong background in mathematics is required in addition to having completed high school chemistry. A lab component is included.
