The Human Anatomy and Physiology class will be holding its one day Fall 2021 Lab Day field trips on Thursday, November 11^th and Wednesday, November 17^th. All students currently enrolled in Human Anatomy & Physiology classes are eligible to attend. Students will work with their instructor to determine which date to attend. The lab day will be begin at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, Abingdon, Virginia. Students will be visiting the Virginia Highlands Community College Gross Anatomy Lab.

Human Anatomy & Physiology students are required to attend this educational adventure, not only for the learning experience and the social interaction with their peers, but to fulfill the requirements for dual enrollment.

In order to make the lab day a safe and enjoyable learning experience for everyone, all students will be required to abide by the following:

• Students will be required to wear a mask covering mouth and nose at all times regardless of vaccination status. Gloves and goggles will be provided by HGS and must be worn at all times when students are interacting with the dissection specimens.
• Students will observe 6 feet of social distancing at all times – no lab pairs or groups will be permitted. Anatomic models and/or specimens will be placed in individual stations, and only one student will be allowed at each station at a time. Shared equipment will be cleaned between students.

To attend the lab day field trip, a student's parent or legal guardian must complete, sign, and return to the Governor's School, with the document received at the Governor's School Office no later than Monday, November 8^th, the following:

• Gross Anatomy Laboratory Policies Form
• Science Lab Safety Policies Acknowledgment Form
