ORAL DISEASE REPORT - 2008

You will be assigned or allowed to choose a disease in class to find information contained in the questions listed below. The discussion of your disease will be presented orally in class. It should last 3-5 minutes. We will start having these reports in class soon. You should start on this assignment NOW!

Requirements:

1. 10-15 power point slides for your presentation emailed to ksmith on date TBD before the oral presentation. Your slides must include 2 pictures that relate to your disease/research. Do not email until you are asked to. If I haven’t received them by the date required you will receive a grade of 0 for this oral report. If you are not ready to present the oral report on the date determined you will receive a grade of 0.
2. You will take the class to the URL that you feel best explains the disease if time allows.
3. Do not read the following questions. Explain their answers in your oral report.

1. Why did you choose this disease to research? If you know someone with this disease/condition, consult him/her for their input.

2. What is the disease? Define it.

3. What are the symptoms of the disease?

4. What are the causes?

5. What are the Rx’s?

6. What body system(s) are affected?

7. What is the life expectancy of a person with the disease? Explain.

8. Discuss the latest research that is being conducted concerning the disease.

9. Give your own Hypothesis for a cure for the disease.

10. List the URLs used on the last slide.
