About The Instructor

Alicia Johnson, B.A., M.S., Ph.D.

Mrs. Johnson holds a B.A. in Literature from the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and an M.S. in Instructional Media from Wilkes University in Pennsylvania, and a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She is currently an instructional designer at Virginia Tech. Prior to assuming her current Governor's School position, Mrs. Johnson taught High School English for five years at Giles High School in Pearisburg, Virginia.

INSTRUCTOR'S COURSE OFFERINGS

Advanced Multimedia Applications

Advanced Multimedia Applications explores the technical fundamentals of creating multimedia projects with related software and hardware. Students will learn to manage resources required for multimedia production and evaluation and techniques for selection of graphics and multimedia software. Students will then refine the skills learned focusing on project development using digital media: video clips, still images, and audio (sounds, music, and narration).
