The Nuclear Atom
Ernest Rutherford, in 1912-13, with the help of
Neils Bohr, Hans Geiger, and Ernest Marsden
designed a Gold Foil Experiment to determine
the structure of the atom.
Geiger and Marsden exposed a thin gold film to
a stream of positively-charged particles.
Most of the atoms passed through the foil.
